Week 1

Well week 1 ended up being a total of 2 days of workouts. When I was leaving work Wednesday, I was T-Boned in the intersection in front of my store. Quite the jolt physicaly and emotionaly! The car struck my right on my front right tire and collapsed in the tire and snapped all of the tie rods etc. There was about a 4" scratch on my bumper and a smaller scratch on the body right above the bumper. Her car suffered damage to her hood, grill and bumper. I am so glad that she had insurance and that she was ok. I hurt my hand and after the truck was towed away my neck and shoulders started to hurt so we went to the doctor. He said to take 5 days off from training and gave me some steroids, muscle relaxants and pain meds to take. Needless to say 5 days off from training was hard for me to swallow but I listened and didn't do anything until Sunday. Yeah I know, that is only 3 days but it was time to HTFU!

Sunday I rode in the "Worst Day of The Year Ride" in Portland. It helps support the community biking center and is a blast to ride in. People wear costumes and act crazy, have a good time and enjoy the day. The weather was great for a ride and we only had a brief shower early in the ride. After 2 hours of riding my back started to tighten up so we called it a day and had lunch.

So onto week 2. It is a repeat of the same workouts I did the first 4 weeks and then we start climbing into longer distances and faster speeds.
